Abstract

Technological culture is an essential component of contemporary education, as it fosters innovation and improves learning quality. The objective of this research was to analyze technological culture in the teaching-learning process of the Social Sciences area within the Unified General Baccalaureate at Colegio Electrónico Pichincha during the 2022–2023 academic year. A mixed-methods approach was applied: in-depth interviews with teachers and authorities, structured surveys administered to 120 students. Results show that teachers possess general knowledge of technological tools, although their classroom use is irregular. From the students’ perspective, ICT contributes to more practical and contextualized learning, but requires broader integration. A pedagogical proposal based on the Moodle platform was designed as a strategy to promote teacher training and strengthen the institution’s technological culture. It is concluded that the systematic incorporation of ICT fosters active participation, collaborative learning, and the consolidation of digital competencies in both teachers and students.
