Trastornos musculoesqueléticos en trabajadores de una empresa manufacturera dedicada a la elaboración de alimentos para camarón
Abstract
A musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) is an injury or condition that affects muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, joints, spinal discs, and other parts of the skeletal system, and is generally caused by repetitive work activities, awkward postures, physical loads, and other ergonomic factors that trigger a problem in the area of occupational health. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among workers at a manufacturing company producing shrimp feed, using medical record data. A descriptive, quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional design study was conducted to evaluate musculoskeletal disorders among workers at a manufacturing company dedicated to the preparation of shrimp food. This research revealed that male personnel in the operational area face a significant prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders, including unspecified low back pain (lumbago) (74 cases), muscle contractures (67 cases), and internal knee disorders (28 cases). Effective prevention strategies must be implemented for the benefit of the health and well-being of workers.
