Abstract
The article examines the theoretical and applied aspects of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the activities of small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) in Ukraine in the context of digital transformation. The key opportunities for using AI technologies in the activities of SMEs are analyzed, including the automation of routine business processes, optimization of resource management, improvement of the accuracy of forecasting market trends and demand, overcoming language barriers, and enhancing customer engagement. It is demonstrated that a systematic approach to integrating AI into SME activities makes it possible to achieve a sustainable economic effect, manifested in reduced operating costs, increased productivity, higher conversion rates, as well as improved competitiveness, innovativeness, and market resilience. In the long term, this transforms into a sustainable economic effect not only at the level of individual enterprises but also at the level of industries and the national economy as a whole. The practical experience of using AI technologies by Ukrainian companies is analyzed, confirming the applied nature and the growing diffusion of intelligent technologies in the small and medium-sized business sector. The applied value of AI solutions for the automation of CRM systems, sales processes, and customer support is substantiated using the example of Ukrainian digital platforms and startups. It is proven that the combination of technological solutions with public and private training programs contributes to the effective integration of AI into SME operating models, ensuring increased productivity, improved quality of customer service, and optimization of business processes. It is established that the process of integrating artificial intelligence into the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises is accompanied by a number of systemic constraints, the key ones being insufficient data quality and structuring, technological incompatibility with existing information systems, limited financial resources, a shortage of digital competencies among personnel, as well as increased cybersecurity risks and uncertainty of the regulatory and legal framework. The necessity of a comprehensive, phased approach to AI integration in Ukrainian SMEs is substantiated, taking into account technical, organizational, human, and legal aspects and providing for the development of digital skills, improvement of data governance, and systematic risk management.
