Abstract
The article examines the specific features of accounting organization and financial reporting preparation in small enterprises under simplified accounting methods. The study focuses on the essence of single-entry accounting, which is characterized by recording each business transaction only once, without applying the double-entry method. The advantages of such an approach include simplicity and reduced administrative burden, which are especially relevant for small businesses with limited resources. However, single-entry accounting has significant limitations, as it does not allow comprehensive monitoring of asset and liability accounts, hinders the formation of a full balance sheet, and limits the analytical capabilities necessary for financial management and decision-making.The article analyzes the structure and content of financial statements prepared by small enterprises in accordance with the National Accounting Standard (NAS) 25 "Simplified Financial Reporting," including the balance sheet (form 1-M) and the profit and loss statement (form 2-M).It is shown that the balance sheet of a small enterprise differs from that of regular enterprises by having a reduced number of line items due to grouping of assets and liabilities, while maintaining key components such as fixed assets, intangible assets, inventories, cash and cash equivalents, current liabilities, equity, and retained earnings. The profit and loss statement reflects the financial performance of the enterprise over a certain period, allowing the assessment of income, expenses, net profit or loss, and overall financial efficiency. The article emphasizes the importance of modern information technologies in small enterprise accounting. Most small enterprises currently use specialized accounting software, such as BAS Accounting, 1C:Enterprise, M.E.Doc, or cloudbased solutions, which automate the preparation of accounting registers, facilitate accurate recording of transactions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements. The integration of simplified accounting methods with software solutions enables small enterprises to combine the benefits of simplified record-keeping with elements of double-entry accounting, increasing the reliability and transparency of financial information. The study concludes that despite the use of simplified accounting, financial reporting remains a crucial tool for evaluating the financial position and performance of small enterprises.Properly organized accounting and the use of specialized software ensure adequate financial control, transparency of accounting data, and compliance with national standards. The findings can be applied in practice by small business entities and contribute to further research in the field of accounting and financial reporting for small enterprises.
