Abstract
The article explores the transformation of business models in the hospitality industry under conditions of rapid digitalization, platformization, and the expansion of global network ecosystems. It argues that network-based business models are becoming the dominant organizational architecture of entrepreneurship, fundamentally reshaping the logic of value creation from assetintensive structures toward digitally mediated, platform-driven configurations. The study analyzes the evolution of traditional, corporate-network, franchising, and platform models, highlighting structural differences in governance mechanisms, resource orchestration, scalability patterns, and value capture processes.Particular attention is devoted to the role of digital platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com as key actors transforming competitive dynamics in global hospitality markets.A typology of network business models in hospitality is developed, systematizing their defining characteristics, sources of network effects, strategic advantages, and inherent risks. The research identifies critical challenges associated with algorithmic dependence, market power concentration, regulatory asymmetries, reputational vulnerability, and the commodification of services within highly transparent digital environments.Simultaneously, network integration creates substantial entrepreneurial opportunities, including global market access, rapid scalability without ownership of physical assets, data-driven personalization, innovation diffusion, and the expansion of micro-entrepreneurship within multisided ecosystems. An original analytical matrix "Level of Network Integration × Entrepreneurial Autonomy" is proposed to conceptualize strategic configurations of hospitality entrepreneurship in digital contexts. The findings demonstrate that hybrid models combining high levels of network integration with preserved strategic autonomy and diversified distribution channels provide the most sustainable long-term competitive advantages. The results contribute to the advancement of network economics, platform theory, and entrepreneurial strategy in hospitality and offer practical implications for entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers operating within evolving global digital infrastructures.
