Abstract
The Floral Representations in the Embroidery of Cusco clothing. Cuzco indigenous dresses are characterized by having varied iconographic decorations. It is the decorative floral representation that stands out for its color, design and shape. The floral motif appears adorning both the dresses of the holy images of Cuzco colonial painting (17th and 18th centuries) and the clothing of the noble Incas portrayed during the colony. This study aims to show that there is an Andean aesthetic continuity, based on the identification of the floral species used in viceregal artistic expressions and the comparison with the floral species used in the decoration of contemporary traditional clothing. The continuity of the decorative use of floral motifs is understood as an expression of Andean aesthetic memory, resistance and cultural identity.
