Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the effect of sweet potato peel meal (SPPM) fortified with methionine and lysine on performance of broiler chickens. A total number of One hundred and ninety-five (195) one-week Cobb 500 old broiler chicks were procured from a reputable hatchery. Thirty-nine (39) birds were randomly allocated to each of 5 treatments with three replicates which have 13 birds each in a completely randomized design. Five (5) experimental diets were formulated and designated as the treatments 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 which were 0% SPPM, 30% SPPM, 30%SPPM + 0.4% Methionine + 0.1% Lysine, 30%SPPM + 0.2% Methionine + 0.4% Lysine and 30%SPPM+ 0.4% Methionine + 0.4% Lysine respectively. Data of growth performance, blood and carcass were collected and analyzed using analysis of variance. The result on growth performance shows significant (P
