Design and Implementation of a Segmented Network Based on VLAN and Dynamic Routing in the FAD Building, XYZ University
Abstract
This research aims to design a local area network in the FAD Building of XYZ University using Virtual LAN (VLAN) segmentation, VLSM addressing, and OSPF dynamic routing. The design process follows the Cisco Lifecycle (PPDIOO) methodology in Cisco Packet Tracer simulation. As a result, the core–distribution–access network structure is achieved, each host gets an automatic IP, and inter-VLAN communication runs normally. This implementation improves the security and efficiency of campus network management. With this design, the needs for segmentation, performance, and scalability of the educational network can be well accommodated.
