Peningkatan Kesehatan Ibu Nifas melalui Model Pelayanan Nifas Komprehensif di Puskesmas Kota Surabaya
Abstract
The postpartum period is a crucial period for the mother's recovery and is also the phase with the highest risk of morbidity and mortality. Data from the Surabaya City Health Office in 2023 showed that maternal deaths were predominantly during the postpartum period. The comprehensive postpartum care model provides postpartum care in accordance with the 2019 Ministry of Health postpartum care guidelines, offering biopsychosocial services, Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC), and team learning in physiological postpartum care at Community Health Centers (Puskesmas). This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of health workers in providing comprehensive postpartum care at Surabaya City Community Health Centers. The method used was capacity building through workshops and simulations. Participants were those responsible for MCH services and coordinating midwives from 23 inpatient Community Health Centers in Surabaya City. The results showed an increase in participant knowledge, with an average pretest score of 70.52 increasing to 80.25 in the posttest (p=0.001). Participants were also able to apply mental health screening, use service algorithms, and engage in interprofessional collaboration in postpartum care. This capability was assessed based on the results of a capacity-building simulation. The conclusion was that a comprehensive postpartum care model for health workers at Puskesmas was needed to improve their knowledge and skills in providing postpartum care that focuses not only on physical health but also on mental health.
