Abstract

Abstract Level measurement, in the industrial context, involves monitoring liquid or solid contents to enable continuous process control such as buffering, mixing, dosing, or resistance management. Among the various technologies available, radiometric level measurement has become prominent for its reliability in challenging conditions like high temperatures, pressure, and abrasion. This paper presents a case study on maintaining measurement accuracy with a Cobalt-60 radiometric source after reaching its first half-life. It proposes a solution that prolongs source usability without compromising process safety, highlighting challenges and adjustments necessary in petrochemical reactors.
