Abstract

The growth rate of the digital economy and the disbursement of online loans in Indonesia has increased considerably. However, behind this growth rate, there are problems such as data leakage and fraud due to consumer negligence who carelessly share personal data. The lack of financial literacy of the public, especially Generation Z, causes them to be the main recipients of online loans as well as contributors to bad credit. This research was undertaken to explore how knowledge of digital finance impacts financial behavior and to present a broad perspective on the level of digital financial literacy and financial conduct among Generation Z in Greater Bandung, The study adopts a quantitative descriptive approach, involving 400 respondents selected via purposive sampling. The gathered data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics, applying quantitative evaluation methods such as simple linear regression, R-squared analysis, and partial hypothesis testing, The results reveal that digital financial literacy exerts a notable and positive effect on financial behavior, thus validating the first hypothesis (H1). Moreover, the coefficient of determination, which stood at only 63.9%, indicates that the remaining 33.1% of financial behavior variation can be attributed to factors apart from digital financial knowledge. Based on these findings, it is recommended that fintech providers implement interactive educational initiatives, enhance chatbot and hotline capabilities, and pursue further studies incorporating other influencing variables.
