Homoeopathic approach to examination anxiety: A repertory-based study
Abstract
Examination stress and anxiety are common psychological challenges among students, often leading to impaired concentration, anticipatory fear, cognitive dysfunction, and somatic symptoms such as tremors, palpitations, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Homoeopathy offers a holistic, individualized approach to managing these conditions by addressing both mental-emotional and physical manifestations. This study explores commonly indicated homoeopathic remedies for examination anxiety, including Gelsemium, Argentum nitricum, Lycopodium, Kali phosphoricum, and Aethusa, highlighting their characteristic symptom profiles. Additionally, key rubrics from major repertories Kent’s Repertory, Boenninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocket Book (BTPB), Boger-Boenninghausen Characteristics Repertory (BBCR) and the Synthesis Repertory are identified to guide systematic repertorisation. Integrating repertory-based analysis with individualized remedy selection provides a structured framework for clinical management, enhancing students’ coping ability and performance.
