Abstract

Shingles is another name for herpes zoster. It is caused by the varicella zoster virus, which has been dormant in a nerve root ganglion since childhood chickenpox. Reactivation can occur on its own or as a result of immunosuppression. The efficacy of homeopathy in treating chronic illnesses is well known. Nonetheless, this article presents an impressive evidence-based result that shows how a single homeopathic medicine can effectively treat an acute case of Herpes Zoster (HZ) in a relatively short amount of time. A homeopathic remedy called Rhus toxicodendron has irritating, excoriating, and inflammatory qualities, especially when used for skin-related ailments.
