Homoeopathic therapeutics in cataract management: A comprehensive review
Abstract
Cataract is one of the most common causes of preventable blindness worldwide and is conventionally treated through surgical intervention. Homoeopathic management focuses on a holistic and individualized approach, aiming to slow disease progression and improve visual comfort in early stages. Remedy selection is based on constitutional symptoms, ocular complaints, and associated systemic conditions rather than lens opacity alone. Although homoeopathy cannot replace surgery in advanced cataract, it may serve as a supportive or adjunctive option. Further clinical studies are required to scientifically validate its role.
