Individualized homoeopathic treatment of vitiligo using LM potency: A case report
Abstract
Vitiligo is a chronic acquired depigmentation disorder with a considerable impact on quality of life. This case report presents a 24-year-old male with a six-month history of progressive hypopigmented patches involving the chin, bilateral axillae, and neck, with a baseline Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score of 16. An individualized homoeopathic approach was adopted based on the totality of physical and mental characteristics, and Sulphur was prescribed in ascending potencies over a follow-up period of approximately ten months. Gradual clinical improvement was observed, beginning with perifollicular re-pigmentation and followed by reduction in lesion size and fading of patches, without the appearance of new lesions. A consistent improvement in general health and emotional well-being was noted, with the DLQI score reducing to 3 at the final follow-up. This case suggests a positive therapeutic response to individualized homoeopathic management in vitiligo and highlights the importance of holistic case evaluation.
