Abstract

Achieving proper integration of smallholder farmers into markets is a viable strategy towards achieving improved livelihoods. Farmers need to shift from just production to agribusiness. African Leafy Vegetables farming has the potential of increasing household income due to their numerous benefits. However, smallholder farmers have not benefited from it due to their low market participation due limited marketing skills. This study sought to use Lewin’s change model to improve farmers’ marketing skills in Vihiga County, Kenya. The study concludes that incorporating Lewin’s change model into agricultural programs would improve farmers participation in the markets hence improve their livelihoods.
