Abstract

In the contemporary business environment, career development has emerged as a critical factor influencing employee motivation and retention, particularly in fast-paced sectors such as logistics and e-commerce. This study, titled “A Study on Career Development Opportunities and Their Impact on Retention and Motivation at Delhivery Company Pvt. Ltd.”, aims to examine the relationship between career development initiatives and employees’ motivation and retention levels within the organization. The research adopts a quantitative methodology, using structured questionnaires to collect data from employees across various departments at Delhivery. The study analyzes employee perceptions regarding training programs, promotion policies, skill development opportunities, and organizational support for career growth. The findings reveal that a significant portion of the workforce is young and moderately experienced, with many employees acknowledging the importance of career development in enhancing job satisfaction and commitment. While a majority of respondents expressed agreement that Delhivery provides relevant career development and training programs, a considerable number remained neutral regarding communication effectiveness, promotion transparency, and management support. The results indicate a positive relationship between career development opportunities, employee motivation, and retention, highlighting that structured training, clear growth paths, and performance-based incentives play a vital role in reducing attrition. The study concludes that although Delhivery has made notable efforts in employee development, there is scope for improvement through enhanced communication, transparent promotion systems, and expanded learning opportunities. Strengthening these areas can further motivate employees, improve retention rates, and contribute to the organization’s long-term sustainability.
