Abstract

Obstetric and gynaecological (OBG) nursing is a specialized area of nursing practice that focuses on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, and across various gynaecological conditions. Nurses working in this field face numerous challenges due to the complexity of care, emotional demands, ethical dilemmas, workforce shortages, and rapid changes in healthcare systems. These challenges can significantly affect the quality of care delivered to women and new-borns as well as the professional well-being of nurses. This review article aims to analyze the major challenges faced by obstetric and gynaecological nurses and to highlight strategies for improving nursing practice and patient outcomes.
