Variants in the CYP19 gene, Specifically in Exon 8, and their Association with the Pregnancy Hormone in Awassi Sheep
Abstract
About 1-3 percent of reproductive-age women experience recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA), which is defined as three or more consecutive miscarriages occurring before the 20th week of gestation. Multiple epidemiological investigations have pointed to multiple environmental and genetic variables that contribute to RSA. In premenopausal women's ovarian tissues, aromatase, an essential cytochrome P450 enzyme, is encoded by the CYP19 gene. By elevating aromatase activity, a C/T polymorphism in the CYP19 gene (rs10046) affects estrogen levels. The purpose of this research was to determine whether there is a correlation between Awasi sheep pregnancy hormone levels and CYP19 exon 8 polymorphisms. Notable results included levels of pregnancy hormones varying between 0.13 and 0.58 ng/mL. Isolation and genotyping of the CYP19 gene's exon 8, which contains 101 base pairs, has been accomplished through the use of sequencing technology. Half of the Awasi sheep were CC, 30% were TC, and 20% were TT. In comparison to the TT (0.300) and CC (0.298) genotypes, the TC genotype (0.398) displayed a significant difference (P
