Abstract

Supercritical fluid chromatography is an advanced analytical technique that combines aspects of liquid and gas chromatography to provide high efficiency, rapid analysis, and reduced solvent consumption. This review covers the fundamentals, apparatus, operational parameters, and method development strategies of supercritical fluid chromatography. Highlighted are its uses in the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds, including chiral drug substances, impurities, and degradation products. By outlining its advantages, disadvantages, and potential applications, this method's increasing significance in pharmaceutical quality control and regulatory compliance is illustrated.
