Correction of the water-salt balance as a tool for achieving peak fitness in aesthetic sports
Abstract
The article is dedicated to examining hydration-driven strategies that support peak fitness in aesthetic sports through controlled modulation of intracellular and extracellular water flows. Relevance arises from growing demands for precise appearance management in physique-based disciplines, where small deviations in tissue hydration influence competitive outcomes. Novelty lies in demonstrating how coordinated manipulation of macronutrients, electrolytes, and water turnover shapes visual readiness through a phase-oriented preparation model. The work describes regulatory mechanisms governing cellular fluid distribution, muscular substrate dynamics, and endocrine influences on peripheral retention. The study investigates functional transitions during depletion, supercompensation, stabilization, and pre-stage refinement. Special attention is paid to hydration markers, glycogen-linked volumization, electrolyte steering, and sex-dependent fluid behavior. The article sets a goal to systematize preparation patterns that support stable muscle density and controlled surface definition. Analytical, comparative, and synthesis-based methods are used to achieve this aim, drawing on peer-reviewed research in physiology, nutrition, and sports science. The conclusion outlines structural preparation pathways for practitioners seeking optimized stage performance. The article will be useful for coaches, competitors, sports nutrition specialists, and researchers examining fluid regulation in physique-oriented disciplines.
