Psychological stress among physical education teachers during official futsal championships for secondary schools
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the psychological stress levels of physical education teachers overseeing school teams competing in the official secondary school futsal tournament for the 2024–2025 academic year. Whether they were the greatest or least significant sources of psychological strain, it also aimed to identify the sources of these stresses based on their intensity. Using a descriptive survey approach, the researchers examined a sample of 80 physical education teachers who were in charge of school teams competing in official championships. The results showed that the most significant factor causing physical education instructors' elevated psychological stress levels was organizational and administrative stress. The coach's personal traits were determined to have the least impact, whereas pressures connected to players and spectators were found to be at a moderately high level. The researchers suggested lowering workloads, making rules more understandable, and strengthening administrative assistance for educators in order to improve the administrative environment. They also underlined how crucial it is to offer counseling and training programs to assist teachers in handling the pressures placed on them by players and fans. In order to improve teachers' capacity to handle work-related pressures, the study also emphasized the need to expand psychological and professional support through specialists or workshops, as well as to develop leadership and communication skills. Additionally, the study suggested giving physical education classes more attention and improving their timing within the weekly schedule so that teachers have more chances to find children who are athletically gifted and capable of producing outstanding results for school teams.
