Abstract

The present research work deals with the characterization of gamma irradiated blend films obtained by mixing equal quantity of silk fibroin (SF) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) solutions. Structural, mechanical and thermal property of blend films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), universal testing machine and Derivative thermogravimetric analysis. The chemical, thermal and structural properties of blend films change slightly with the effects of gamma radiation.
