Some biomotor tests in selecting beginner table tennis players
Abstract
The importance of this research lies in establishing standardized levels and criteria to aid in selecting novice table tennis players and creating a personalized profile for each player based on these criteria. Attention to biomotor abilities is crucial in table tennis, requiring measurement and testing. Therefore, it is essential to establish criteria for selecting novice players. Consequently, the researchers decided to develop standardized levels, given the scarcity of such levels, to facilitate player selection and simplify the task for specialists. The researchers set several objectives, including: Defining standardized levels for biomotor ability tests as an indicator for selecting novice players aged 10-12 years for table tennis. The researchers employed a descriptive methodology, deemed most suitable for this research. The research population consisted of members of the Al-Mashkhab Youth Forum, from which a sample of 50 members was selected. After administering the tests, the results were presented, analyzed, and discussed. The researchers reached several conclusions and recommendations, including: In all biomotor ability tests, the majority of the research sample scored below the standard (good) or between the acceptable and good levels.
