The impact of using the Marzano dimensions model in learning and improving the flat serve skill in tennis for students
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify the effect of the educational model prepared according to the dimensions of learning (Marzano) on learning and improving the flat serve skill in tennis for third-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Babylon for the academic year (2025-2026). The researcher used the experimental method with the design of two equivalent groups (control and experimental) on a sample of (52) students who were selected by simple random method and distributed into, an experimental group (26) students who studied according to the Marzano model and the learner’s guide, and a control group (26) students who studied according to the method followed. The educational program included (6) educational units at a rate of one unit per week, with a duration of (90) minutes. The statistical results showed the existence of statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test in favor of the post-test for both groups. The results also showed a significant superiority of the experimental group over the control group in the post-test for the serve skill. The researcher concluded that Marzano’s model effectively contributed to deepening and refining knowledge by linking cognitive dimensions and collaborative work, which led to improved accuracy in skills performance.
