The relationship between leadership personality and teaching skills performance of practicum student teachers physical education and sports science faculty

This research aims to determine the level of leadership personality among practicum student teachers in Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the level of teaching experience, and whether or not there is a correlation between leadership personality and interpersonal relationship skills among practicum student teachers in Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The researcher used descriptive method with correlational analysis since it is appropriate to the problem of study and its objectives. The study group consisted of all 427 training student teachers at the University of Diyala's College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in the school year 2015-2016. 23.41% of the study group consisted of a hundred male and female training student teachers. The results of the study showed that: Practicum students in University of Diyala's College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences had an indicator for good leadership qualities. Students in their practicum for teacher's colleges naturally had a positive relationship with teaching performance when they were at College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the same university. Findings revealed an association between leadership traits and teaching performance of the practicum student teachers in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (PESS) at University of Diyala. Therefore, it should be determined what leaders are in colleges of education and sports sciences by Leadership Personality Scale. Other than that, it must also be utilized in comparing the students of colleges of physical education and sports sciences among Iraqi universities.
