Abstract

There search title is “A study on role of warehousing in logistics” Cost collection is an essential process in any manufacturing organization, as it helps in identifying, recording, classifying, and analyzing all costs associated with production. A systematic cost collection system ensures effective cost control and accurate cost determination, which in turn supports managerial decision-making. The study focuses on the methods adopted by Titan Limited – Watches Division – for collecting and recording various costs related to materials, labor, and overheads. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the efficiency of the existing cost collection system and its impact on cost control and profitability. Both primary data (through employee interviews and questionnaires) and secondary data (from company reports, journals, and records) were used for analysis. The tools used include percentage analysis and weighted average method for interpreting the results. Based on the findings, it is observed that Titan Limited follows a well-structured cost collection process using modern accounting software and systematic documentation. However, there is still scope for improvement in areas such as real-time data integration and inter-departmental coordination to enhance accuracy and reduce delays. The study concludes that an effective cost collection system enables the company to achieve better financial control, cost efficiency, and overall productivity. It also helps management in decision-making related to pricing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
