Efficacy of E-Partogram versus paper Partogram to improve maternal & neonatal outcome in GIMS, Kalaburagi
Abstract
Background & Objectives: Maternal and neonatal mortality remain significant global health issues, often linked to prolonged or obstructed labour. The partograph aids in monitoring labour, but traditional paper-based tools face challenges in implementation. Electronic partographs (E-partograms) may offer improved efficiency and outcomes. Methods: A prospective observational study was carried out on 200 obstetric patients at Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalaburagi, from April to June 2023. Participants were assigned to either e-partogram (n=100, using the DAksh app) or paper partogram (n=100, modified WHO version), monitored from active labour phase (?4 cm dilation). Maternal outcomes (mode of delivery, operative indications, partogram completion) and neonatal outcomes (APGAR scores, NICU admission) were compared using appropriate statistical tests (p
