Implant dentistry in the digital era
Abstract
Digital Revolution in Implant Dentistry: Faster, More Accurate and Patient-Friendly Dentistry is undergoing a digital transformation. Thanks to technologies such as intraoral scanners, 3D radiography and CAD/CAM, implants can now be placed with far greater precision. These innovations enable the creation of a digital treatment plan in advance, including the exact position of the implant and the shape of the crown. Using surgical templates, this plan is transferred accurately to the patient’s mouth. A key advantage: the crown can often be fabricated before the procedure and fitted immediately after the implant is placed. This shortens treatment time and provides patients with instant aesthetic and functional restoration. Laboratory research confirms that prefabricated temporary crowns are mechanically reliable. Multiple clinical studies show that this digital approach is not only efficient but also delivers predictable and stable outcomes. Both for immediate implant placement in the aesthetic zone and for complex cases involving bone grafts. Patients report high satisfaction, particularly due to the rapid restoration of function and appearance. Monolithic zirconia crowns used in the posterior region also demonstrate excellent performance. Conclusion: Digital implant dentistry is no longer a vision of the future, but a proven, patient-centred approach that combines speed, precision and comfort.
