The Media is an Important Tool for Ensuring the Legitimacy and Transparency of the Political Process
Abstract
A key trend in the modern world is the increasing role of the media in shaping public opinion about law and justice. Today, the media has a significant impact on all aspects of society, including politics, economics, and culture. By providing transparency and accountability in the political process, the media encourages citizens to actively participate and monitor the actions of government officials. However, this influence is not without its challenges. The media's impact on legal education can be negative, as constant focus on corruption and abuse in law enforcement agencies can erode trust in the legal system as a whole. The authors conclude that effective legal regulation, including protection of journalistic activities, prevention of censorship, and counteraction to disinformation, is a necessary condition for fostering an active civic position and ensuring the legitimacy of political institutions.
