Abstract

Christianity in the countries of Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Swaziland has a shared Christian history that began in the 19th century with European and American missionaries. Ecumenical efforts are underway to promote unity among churches. Recently, some governments have taken measures to regulate the rapid growth of churches and address controversial practices, such as faith healing, to protect public well-being.
