Seychelles, Comoros, Mayotte and Saint Helena
Abstract
Christianity in Seychelles is primarily Roman Catholic due to early European settlers, though British influence led to an active Anglican Church. In Comoros, Sunni Islam is the state religion, and Christianity constitutes a small minority facing societal pressures and legal restrictions on proselytising. Mayotte, a French département, is predominantly Muslim but maintains French law, including the separation of church and state, while also having a small Christian minority. Saint Helena’s population is predominantly Anglican, with its constitution reflecting Christian values.
