Abstract

Pentecostalism has become a global phenomenon, with its development in Africa marked by indigenous movements and leaders, often independent of North American influences. Pentecostal and Charismatic churches emphasize the experience of the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, prosperity, healing, and deliverance, appealing to the existential needs of the African public. Contemporary Pentecostal churches actively engage in socioeconomic and political life, founding institutions and utilizing modern media to expand their reach. The movement’s international outlook is reflected in its global presence, with African leaders establishing branches and networks worldwide.
