Migration
Abstract
Migration is a significant, multifaceted phenomenon in Africa, influencing both the continent’s history and the development of Christianity. It involves movements within Africa, as well as between Africa and other parts of the world, impacting intercultural encounters and religious expressions. Public discourse often portrays migration negatively, emphasizing political and economic perspectives and overlooking its relevance to the study of global Christianity. However, migration serves as an analytical field for understanding Christianity, highlighting the role of African agency and intercultural theology. The dynamics of migration, including contesting, negotiating, and creating spaces, shape the diverse expressions of Christianity in Africa and its global impact.
