Abstract

Hong Kong, shaped by its unique history as a British colony and its return to China in 1997, has fostered a diverse and dynamic Christian landscape. The growth of Christianity in Hong Kong was initially slow but accelerated in the post-war period due to an influx of refugees and the church's active role in social services. Since the handover, Hong Kong churches have navigated the "One Country, Two Systems" framework, facing new challenges related to religious freedom, political engagement, and evolving social policies.
