Abstract

The history of Christianity in Cambodia has been marked by periods of growth, suppression, and resurgence, deeply intertwined with the country's political and social upheavals. The Khmer Rouge regime's brutal persecution during the 1970s decimated the Christian population, leading to a period of underground church activity. Following the regime's collapse, Cambodia experienced a remarkable resurgence of Christianity, fueled by the return of refugees, the arrival of missionaries, and the perceived relevance of Christian teachings to address societal needs.
