Inter-religious Relations
Abstract
Interreligious relations in Southeast Asia are shaped by a complex interplay of historical, cultural, political, and religious factors, often characterized by a majority-minority dynamic. Government restrictions on religious freedom, influenced by concerns about security and proselytism, vary across countries, with some exhibiting greater tolerance than others. Despite these challenges, various initiatives led by religious leaders, theologians, and educational institutions promote interfaith dialogue, understanding, and cooperation, fostering a more harmonious and inclusive religious landscape.
