La tecnología en la resiliencia de los refugiados centroamericanos durante su desplazamiento por México
Abstract
The article aims to analyze how asylum seekers and refugees from Central America build migratory resilience in the face of adversities stemming from the migration containment and selectivity policies in Mexico. Through a qualitative approach grounded in digital ethnography, a documentary review, and semi-structured interviews, the study examines the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for individuals facing forced displacement. The results show that ICTs facilitate access to support networks, geolocation, humanitarian aid, and legal guidance, thereby contributing to the protection of human security and the exercise of rights. As the main contribution, the concept of technoprotection is proposed as a protection mechanism that strengthens migratory resilience through digital strategies. It concludes that technology constitutes a key resource for navigating contexts of vulnerability, although limitations associated with unequal access to the internet, technological devices, and connectivity persist.
