Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine how women's vulnerability is reproduced daily in contexts of rural poverty in different regions of the country. The hypothesis is that their vulnerability is shaped by three key elements: time, family, and work. Through ethnography, three cases with high explanatory value of women's trajectories were selected. The home was used as the unit of observation, and their daily lives were recorded to observe how these elements are articulated. It was found that the process of vulnerability encompasses spirals and cycles that manifest daily, creating a continuum of adversity; while it affects all subjects, it is shaped by class and gender.
