Abstract

This article reports the findings of a study examining the patterns of emergency medical service (EMS) utilization among older adults in a region of the Russian Federation. The analysis revealed not only age groups with a high frequency of EMS use, but also subgroups characterized by an exceptionally elevated level of demand. Current demographic projections indicate that by 2050, the global population aged 60 years and older will approximately double. In light of these trends, the continuous professional training of emergency medical personnel in acute geriatric care should be regarded as a priority.
