Abstract

Brucellosis is a significant problem for the Kyrgyz Republic, which has a number of areas most affected by this infection. These areas include the Chatkal district of the Jalal-Abad region. The aim is to analyze the incidence of brucellosis and assess the scope of necessary preventive measures in the Chatkal district of the Jalal-Abad region in 2020–2024. It has been established that the incidence of brucellosis in the Chatkal region significantly exceeds those in the region as a whole. The risk groups for infection have been identified, which are people 30 years of age and older, mostly not officially employed, as well as people from other social groups (schoolchildren, working people, pensioners). Infection of these individuals occurs in private subsidiary farms when caring for animals, butchering carcasses, etc. The predominant source of infection in the area is small cattle. The identified features, along with the identified problems of laboratory diagnosis of this infection, determine the need for extensive educational work among the population and improving the quality and accessibility of laboratory diagnostics.
