Abstract

This article presents the results of a study examining the potential for managing labor productivity in remote employment. It also provides an overview of research findings on this topic. Based on VTsIOM survey data, the scope of remote employment is described and Russians’ assessments of its advantages and disadvantages are presented. The article outlines the risks associated with this type of employment for ensuring high productivity. The conclusion is that ensuring high productivity in all areas of remote (remote, platform) employment requires a thorough analysis of all work functions, the elimination of all potential losses, and the development of a system of metrics for each employee to use as a benchmark. These metrics should be meaningful, challenging, and motivate employees to be productive.
