Abstract

Nodular fasciitis is a benign connective tissue tumor characterized by rapidly growing myofibroblastic proliferation with myxoid stroma. It is distinguished from sarcomatous tumors by the absence of cellular atypia. The typical presentation is a painless, mobile, rapidly growing tumor that rarely exceeds 5 cm. The most important differential diagnosis is with sarcomas due to its therapeutic implications. Treatment is resection. In this case report, we present the case of a 70-year-old woman with a rapidly growing tumor in the submandibular region, suspected to be a sarcoma. Wide resection was performed, and the pathology report revealed nodular fibrosis. Follow-up has shown no signs of recurrence.
