Abstract

Globalization and nationalism are two of the most influential and often competing forces shaping contemporary international relations. While globalization promotes economic integration, technological connectivity, and cultural exchange across national boundaries, nationalism emphasizes collective identity, political sovereignty, and cultural preservation. This study examines the dynamic relationship between globalization and nationalism and their combined impact on global politics.Using a descriptive and analytical research design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to respondents from academic and political science backgrounds. The findings indicate that while globalization has increased awareness, technological advancement, and economic interdependence, it has also intensified nationalist sentiments, particularly in response to perceived cultural and economic threats.A significant proportion of respondents recognized nationalism as a unifying and stabilizing force, yet also acknowledged its potential to generate conflict when taken to extreme forms.Statistical analysis revealed a meaningful association between awareness of globalization and perceptions of its cultural impact. The study concludes that globalization and nationalism are not mutually exclusive; rather, they coexist in a complex relationship that continues to shape political identities, state behavior, and international cooperation.
