INDIA’S PROGRESS TOWARDS ACHIEVEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

India has adopted Sustainable Development Goals in September 2015 and created landmark achievements in diverse areas under various goals and their respective targets.Government at central and state level have been taking various initiative in the form of policy formation, different government schemes, awareness programs and by contributing huge funding in its budget schemes.These efforts have resulted in mass scale awareness among people in urban as well as in rural areas.Though, a lot have been done but still there is need for upgradation and for expediting the process of implementation of SDGs.This paper has explained the concept of sustainable development goals and presented the various initiatives that have been taken by India for the implementation of SDGs.The study has also discussed the progress of India in the progress of application and accomplishment of SDGs.
