Add2ReliaBlade: Virtuelle Teststände auf Basis von analytisch basierten Materialmodellen
Abstract
This report documents the work and results from the subsidized project Add2ReliaBlade. The project targeted deeper understanding of fatigue induced damage and fracture of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) materials in rotor blade structures. Critical structural details were focused, such as structural bond lines with short fiber reinforced adhesives as well as thick-walled laminates within the rotor blade structure such as spar caps and root connection laminates. Further, the accuracy of strength and fatigue life prediction for FRP materials under quasi-static as well as cyclic loading were to be improved. Resulting material models were to be introduced into digital twins of rotor blades and later the entire wind turbine. The overarching goal was to significantly decrease rotor blade and thus turbine cost by increasing the reliability level of rotor blade structures. TPI specific goals were to validate the TPI-developed methods for analytically based prediction of mate-rial properties for composite materials on three levels. These were supposed to be material, coupon, and component level. Especially, the component level focused on structural bond lines for rotor blades. Resulting parameterized material models were to be introduced into the TPI structural blade model. Fi-nally, the testing results from the related ReliaBlade project were to be compared against the structural material, component, and blade model. Further TPI goals are evaluation of the testing results from ReliaBlade considering manufacturing and testing parameters with focus on their influences on mechanical behavior of the rotor blade structure. To implement manufacturing induced imperfections like waves and porosities in uni-directional (UD) main reinforcements such as spar caps (SC), these need to be analyzed in detail and fed into analytically based material and structural models.
