The versailles technique for posterolateral corner reconstruction
Abstract
Posterolateral knee instability remains a major surgical challenge due to the complex anatomy and biomechanics of the posterolateral corner (PLC). Although several reconstructive procedures have been described, few provide an anatomic restoration of all posterolateral structures. We describe a surgical technique, referred to as the Versailles posterolateral reconstruction, which anatomically restores the three primary stabilizing components of the PLC — the lateral collateral ligament, the popliteus tendon, and the popliteofibular ligament — using either a hamstring autograft or a tendon allograft.
