The Landscape of Forced Migration in Morocco : Current Realities and Recommendations
Abstract
Over the past decade, there has been a wave of migration to countries where living conditions are better. In this regard, two types of migration have been identified. The most widespread is voluntary migration, which involves the movement of people to other countries for work, education, tourism, etc. However, there is another form of migration, namely involuntary migration, specifically forced migration. Forced migration refers to migrants who leave their country of origin or a city to go to other countries or cities due to political reasons, land use changes, civil war, climate change, or natural disasters. It is a migration driven by an extreme cause. This work aims to highlight this complex phenomenon and analyze it in the Moroccan context.
