Jocul coincidențelor şi legile actului textual reconfirmate de romanul lui Bogdan Crețu, Mai puțin decât dragostea
Abstract
This year, Romania nominated Bogdan Crețu for the European Union Prize for Literature for his latest novel, Mai puțin decât dragostea. The jury's decision can be explained by the textualist approach adopted by the Iași-born criticwhen creating a social-historical fresco novel that depicts both communism in its most abject forms and post-communism. The love story between the daughter of a 'seraphic fake torturer' and the son of his victim sets the scene for a detailed psychological analysis of evil's presence in the world and its capacity to cause generational trauma. Through the polyphony of voices that allow narratives to cross, readers can recognise the Greek model of ancient tragedy in the author's construction of characters: cursed heredity was translated into a formula of personalhybris.
