Abstract

Creativity faces obstacles like unclear concepts, insufficient resources, pessimistic attitudes, and a challenging educational environment. The goal of this study was to determine the significance of balloon twisting workshops for the development of creativity in five-year-old children from the Chupaca district in the central Andes of Peru. A quantitative and applied methodology was used, employing a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control groups. The sample consisted of 33 five-year-old students from the Chupaca district, selected through intentional non-probabilistic sampling. Data collection was carried out using indirect reactive observation, utilizing a pedagogical test to evaluate creativity development. The results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Creativity increased with the workshops, as evidenced by the results from the experimental group, which showed 77.8% at a high level, compared to 46.7% of students in the control group who were at a medium level. It was concluded that balloon twisting workshops significantly influence creativity. The study recommends continuing to promote creativity development among preschoolers, teachers, and parents to raise awareness and create an innovative educational environment.
